Dear researchers,
Space Applications Services NV/SA with the support of BELSPO are delighted to invite you to the first

ICE Cubes Belgian science day on 09-Jun-2017
Space Applications Services
Leuvensesteenweg 325
1932 Zaventem, Belgium

Space Applications Services is establishing a low cost, frequent regular service (three times a year) to
deliver experiments to the International Space Station in low earth orbit. This service is called
International Commercial Experiment Cubes Service (ICE Cubes). http://www.icecubesservice.com
We believe many of you would have an interest in a fast-track, simple and low-cost access to
microgravity. The intent of the event is to familiarize you with ICE Cubes and what it can mean for
your research, to identify ideas and steps forward in thematic discussion clusters with those with
related scientific interests and to present possibilities for funding of the scientific utilisation of the ICE
Cubes.
Please find the agenda of the event on the next page.
Please confirm your participation by reply to Hilde.Stenuit@spaceapplications.com no later than
Wed 24-May with the following information:
• Names and email addresses of participants
• Thematic area of interest for your team
We hope for your presence on that day to make sure your ideas can be included and look forward to
receiving you at our Space Apps premises in Zaventem!
Sincerely yours,
Hilde Stenuit

Imec Pushes the Boundaries of Gallium Nitride (GaN) Technology

Aug 12, 2015

World-leading nano-electronics research center imec announced today that it is extending its Gallium Nitride-on-Silicon (GaN-on-Si) R&D program, and is now offering joint research on GaN-on-Si 200mm epitaxy and enhancement mode device technology. The extended R&D initiative includes exploration of novel substrates to improve the quality of the epitaxial layers, new isolation modules to increase the level of integration, and the development of advanced vertical devices. Imec welcomes new partners interested in next generation GaN technologies and companies looking for low-volume manufacturing of GaN-on-Si devices to enable the next generation of more efficient and compact power converters.

Besi and Imec Present High-Accuracy Narrow-Pitch Bonding of 3D ICs using Thermocompression

Jul 14, 2015

Today, at SEMICON WEST 2015 (San Francisco), world-leading nano-electronics research center imec and Besi, a global equipment supplier for the semiconductor and electronics industries announced that they have jointly developed an automated thermocompression solution for narrow-pitch die-to-wafer bonding, a method by which singulated dies are stacked onto bottom dies which are still part of a fully intact 300mm wafer. The solution features high accuracy and high throughput, paving the way to a manufacturable 2.5D, 3D, and 2.5D/3D hybrid technology.
