The International Paris Air Show (Le Bourget)

The International Paris Air Show is organised by the SIAE, a subsidiary of GIFAS, the French Aerospace Industries Association.
The 52nd show will take place at the Le Bourget Parc des Expositions from 19 to 25 June 2017, and once again will bring together all the players in this global industry around the latest technological innovations. The first four days of the Show will be reserved for trade visitors, followed by three days open to the general public.

The objective of the European project QB50 is to design and to deploy in space a network of miniaturized satellites to study the lower layers of the thermosphere. Funded by the European Union, the project implements an international Consortium led by the von Karman Institute (VKI). At this week’s Meeting of the International Microelectronics Assembly and Packaging Society (IMAPS 2015), imec and CMST (imec’s associated lab at Ghent University) present a novel technology for thermoplastically deformable electronics enabling low-cost 2.5D free-form rigid electronic objects. The technology is under evaluation in Philips LED lamp carriers, a downlight luminaire and a omnidirectional lightsource, to demonstrate the potential of this technology in innovative lighting applications.

SES Techcom Services and Newtec Expand Astra Connect Broadband Service

SES Techcom Services, a subsidiary of world-leading satellite operator SES S.A. (NYSE Euronext Paris and Luxembourg Stock Exchange: SESG), announced today it will be expanding its Astra Connect broadband service in Africa for the Enterprise and Oil & Gas markets via the Newtec Dialog® multiservice platform on SES’s ASTRA 2G satellite.
